Channeling Rachel Carson: A Nature Love Story for our Time
This empowering one-woman show shines light on the many ways we can find our way home to the wonder of the natural world. From the true North of Rachel Carson’s life work as a pioneer nature writer and ecologist who transformed the understanding of a generation, to the remote beauty of the Maine cottage where she wrote Silent Spring, this performance brings to life the Sense of Wonder Rachel wrote about so movingly at the end of her life. Oracle-award winning author and storyteller Diane Edgecomb skillfully weaves the haunting tale of her own journey of poignancy, joy, and light, summoning beloved childhood experiences and the hidden power of our love for the natural world bringing renewal to our advocacy for the nature we love.

Olmsted's Birthday Celebration
Friends of Jamaica Pond is excited to host a community celebration at the pond in honor of Frederick Law Olmsted’s birthday on Sunday, April 26!
Family-friendly fun! Arts and Crafts! Boston Park Rangers Horses and Nature Center! Lawn-games! Opportunities to learn about local conservation efforts and connect with neighbors who love the pond!
As the visionary landscape architect behind Boston’s Emerald Necklace, Olmsted believed parks should be welcoming and accessible to all. We think he’d be proud to see Jamaica Pond continuing to bring people together today.
Come celebrate community, nature, and the legacy of Jamaica Pond! We will be outside in front of the Boathouse. Invite your friends by sharing using this Eventbrite link!
